Western Lab
The Western Laboratory employs a staff of about 40 to provide the following services:
- Controlled Substances
- Firearms & Toolmarks
- Forensic Biology
- Forensic Toxicology
- Latent Prints/Impression Evidence
- Questioned Documents
- Trace Evidence (including glass & hairs/fibers)
The Western Laboratory is located in the picturesque Roanoke Valley, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains close to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Our building was completed in 1995, and we share it with the Western District Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Our site is adjacent to both Northside High School and the Roanoke County Police Department.
