Basic Crime Scene Photography - Online Via Google Meet May 11, 2020 *****FULL*****

This course is designed to introduce crime scene investigators to photographic theory and the basics of crime scene photography used during a systematic approach to a crime scene investigation. The course will be taught online via Google Meet. Students do not need any special software to participate, however they will need a reliable internet connection. Also, if you will be using an agency issued computer, please ensure prior to the class date there is no internal agency policy prohibiting access to Google Meet via the internet. A computer or laptop with microphone and camera is preferred in order to share work product online. Smart phones are not ideal. Applicants that are selected to attend will receive an invitation email each day with the proper links to access the training.

The course will be taught using Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera equipment. Students will be required to have with them, at minimum, a DSLR camera, a detachable flash with sync cord, tripod and photographic scales. Other useful equipment that is preferred, if the student has on hand, are close-up rings and labels for scales.

Class will begin at 8:30 A.M. each day.

This course will be limited to 12 students and is restricted to personnel from Virginia law enforcement agencies.
